Our Mission
The Xu Beihong Art Museum Europe is Vienna's dedicated centre for Sino-European artistic dialogue. Founded on the legacy of China's most celebrated modern painter, we present exhibitions, education programmes, and cultural events that honour the enduring connection between Chinese and European creative traditions.
Rooted in Vienna — one of Europe's great cultural capitals — we serve as a living bridge between communities, generations, and artistic languages. Our programmes range from youth competitions to landmark festivals at Hofburg Palace, each designed to inspire, educate, and unite.
Our Philosophy
"Art knows no borders. The brush and the canvas speak a language every culture can understand."

Our Namesake
Xu Beihong (1895–1953) was one of China's most celebrated modern painters, renowned for bridging Chinese ink tradition with European academic mastery. His iconic galloping horses became a symbol of national spirit and artistic freedom.
From 1919 to 1927 he studied in Paris, Berlin and Brussels — European years that profoundly shaped his art. His legacy is the founding spirit of everything we do.
